The average cost to keep a person in prison in California is $48000 per year. The average income is $30000 to $40000. A jail cell and jail food cost more than the average person makes in California. Terrible.

George Clinton and the P. Funk was awesome. They played for over three hours, really high energy, great costumes, wide mix of people in the audience. There were about 20 people on stage at any given time. People would just rotate in and out, nearly nonstop, taking breaks to smoke a joint, etc. George's eyes were bright red and he beamed the whole time. A very happy man. The music was fantastic though, nearly blew my ears out, all the musicians were very good. There were lots of improvised solos, guest singers, crowd participation. I'm glad I got to see it.

the vibrator of doom

Whew! I thought I had just broken a $40,000 piece of equipment. It is a super powerful vibrator that can bend steel with its vibration levels. I have a software program that controls it, but it has a really dangerous control that responds to the movement of the mouse. Basically, if you accidentally move the mouse in the wrong spot, it ramps up the vibrations to full output! It scares the fuck out of me. I have it bolted down with a steel beam, but if the bolts break, that thing would fly like a missile across the room. I get scared when I turn it on. I had my notebook on the laptop, which accidentally moved the cursor with the touchpad to nearly full power. It made a horrible thundering sound and you could see the steel anchor bending and twisting. I shut off all the power as quickly as I could, but it refused to work after that. Our project depends entirely on this machine being able to work, and we are finishing in the next two weeks, much too soon to get anything repaired. I took everything apart and luckily found a 12A fuse that had been blown in one of the cables, which I was able to replace. Whew!

There are times when we all feel overwhelmed, like we are losing our minds, going crazy. Something undefinable, something that needs to be done, yet unidentifiable. A vaue, yet peristent nagging that has gone on for so long that it has become a throbbing demand, but with no outlet, nowhere to direct the build-up of energy. Nowhere for it to go. It returns, revolution upon revolution, and each time we become slightly more acclimatized, and at the same time, closer to the edge. Closer to knowing what it is we seek, what it is that is is worth doing. But it slips through our fingers yet again, like sand in an hourglass; a voice calling in the distance, in words undistinguishable, yet cuttingly vivid within our inmost selves. When will the day come when we can hear and recognize the voice of our beloved? When the words become crystal clear, and all our fears are dissolved, as vampires fading into mist? The walls between us grown thinner as our defenses grow stronger. How did we get here? Where do we go from here? Where is our love hidden? Where is the Tower wherein our beloved waits, with long streaming hair with which to climb? Where are the starry eyes glimpsed in dreams, ruby red lips- red with the kissing away of blood? We call, again and again, and love listens, straining against the chains of its imprisonment. It is times like these that we know that the walls are paper thin- yet the separation, no matter how slight, is still infinitely great. There is abyss upon abyss in that separation, wilderness upon wilderness, the baying of wolves. And we strain to listen, to hear th voice of our love; whose voice is our very own. And though we cannot make out the words, we can perhaps be comforted by the melody, and fortified as with light to guide us through the tunnels ahead.
